Get all of Ian's picks here!
We are blessed with one of the best slates so far this year tomorrow. These picks haven’t been so hot the last couple of weeks, but something tells me week 7 is gonna be a hot one. I’m excited to sit on the couch, do nothing except bet and watch 12 hours of college football.
Penn State Vs Michigan (-7)
It’s officially J.J. Mccarthy time in Ann Arbor. The Wolverines have been cruising behind Mccarthy and more importantly star RB Blake Corum. Penn State has had an impressive start to the year, especially their huge win in Auburn. I think this should be a good game, but Michigan is a class above Penn State right now in the Big Ten and nationally. I think Corum runs all over Penn State and Michigan is able to win this one by 10-14 points. Love getting only a touchdown here in the Big House. Michigan -7
Alabama (-9) Vs Tennessee
This game depends a lot on if Bryce Young can play this weekend. He is a gametime decision and that decision could have huge consequences on the college football playoff landscape. I like Tennessee to cover whether Young plays or not. Hendon Hooker has been absolutely electric and needs to be in any heisman conversation. I think Tennessee will be able to score on Bama either way so if Young is back this could be a shootout. If Young doesn’t play I will be all over the Tennessee ML as well as their spread entering into POD territory for me. The fact that it’s already at 9 leads me to believe Bryce is probably playing. Go Vols, Over 66, Tenn +9, sprinkle ML
Oklahoma State Vs TCU (-4.5)
I have been extremely impressed with TCU this year. 4.5 is a bit of a trappy number here either way, this might be a nice game to wait and see who goes down and then grab them as a dog live. If I had to make a pick on this game, which I do for the sake of the preview, I’ll roll with TCU. The Horned Frogs have already had some impressive wins, and I think they get another one here at home against OK State. TCU -4.5
NC State Vs Syracuse (-3.5)
The two best defenses in the ACC face off on Saturday. This will be a grind it out smash mouth football game which the total of 42 indicates. I like getting the hook here with the Wolfpack. After a scare week 1, NC State is looking like the team that was being called the best in their program history pre season. There is also no way Syracuse football lasts this long into a season as an undefeated team. It is hurting my small brain to see “5-0” next to Syracuse football, I seriously can’t comprehend it. Give me the Wolfpack here if they are getting over a field goal, and while we are at it, I’ll take them outright too. NC State +3.5 and ML
Clemson (-4.5) Vs FSU
Ok I have to admit it, DJ might be good. He has 1462 passing yards and 14 touchdowns to only 2 picks. Clemson would not be undefeated without his performance against Wake Forest and I was wrong about how his season would go. Florida State's 4-0 start is starting to look more fraudulent by the week. I get the low number since they are at home, but I am going to jump all over it. I think Clemson is at least a touchdown better than this FSU team, hope 2021 DJ doesn’t show up on me this weekend. Clemson -4.5
Mississippi State(-3.5) Vs Kentucky
Miss state heads to Kentucky who is reeling after a hot start. Will Levis is playing tomorrow, which means I will be riding with the Wildcats on Saturday afternoon. Levis is a beast and might be my second favorite QB in this draft after CJ Stroud. After a tough loss with their backup against South Carolina I think Levis leads Kentucky to a bounce back win at home. Kentucky ML no need for the points.

USC vs Utah (-3.5)
RAT TRAP ALERT!!!! It seems like Vegas is begging the public to take SC as dogs when public perception is that they are the better team. The problem is I really do think USC is the better team, despite Utah being a very tough place to play. Since we are getting over a field goal, in what should be a tight game, I’ll roll with the Trojans spread. It feels awful and I can safely say it is my rattiest bet of the season, but I just can’t bring myself to take Utah -3.5. Trojans +3.5, no ML because this is a rat pick and does not deserve multiple units being deployed.
