Happy Friday everyone and welcome back to another edition of MLB Plays. I’ve got 4 winners for today that will help cover the cost of your vodka sodas at the BlackBook event tonight. Today is the first slate of games since the All-Star break, so all of the horses are on the bump again. Today is also a fresh start for teams as the second half of the season starts now, with 72 games left to make a push. Let’s jump right in.

Marlins @ Orioles 4:05 PM PT

What a match up we got here out in Baltimore. Two of the biggest surprises in baseball showdown tonight at 4:05. I think reigning Cy Young winner Sandy Alcantara has a really strong 2nd half of the season. Also these Marlins are just electric man. After watching Luis (Tony Gwynn) Arraez get two knocks in the All-Star game off of two pitches, I think he continues to roll in the second half, and I believe that performance leads him to a big day today.

Marlins +120

Giants @ Pirates 4:05 PM PT

The G-men head out to Pittsburgh for a 3-game stretch. Struggling Ross Stripling takes on Old man Rich Hill. I didn’t initially have this game on my radar, but the more I look at it, the more I like it. I don’t think Stripling is that great, but he is much better than his current 6.37 ERA. The Giants lineup is also just much better than the Pirates. Giants start the second half of the year in style.

Giants -130

Rays @ Royals 5:05 PM PT

One of the best teams in baseball, versus one of the worst teams in baseball. This is an obvious spot, and Vegas agrees, slotting the Rays at -268. However, I still think there is value in the Rays today with Glasnow on the bump. Glasnow is too talented to be in the 4’s for his ERA, and I think he gives up no more than 1 run today. Rays roll here.

Rays - 2.5 -110

Tigers @ Mariners 7:10 PM PT

Absolute pitchers duel tonight in Seattle with Rodriguez vs. Castillo. Going to be fun to watch. I know a lot of Seattle natives who have earned their beverages after their 9-5’s this week, and they don’t let the M’s lose tonight with their ace on the bump.

Mariners -185

Mariners -1.5 +125

Prop: Over 27.5 17-20-year-olds get booted by alcohol enforcement tonight
