Happy Juneteenth to everyone. We are getting into the period in the MLB

season where clubs start to go on runs, either good or bad. It is only June, but

getting back to 500 is becoming more pressing. We’ve seen the Giants win 7 in a

row, boosting them into a wildcard spot, while the Reds and Phillies have won 6

and 8 in a row, respectively.

Today, I will be highlighting plays where I feel teams are undervalued.

This means the team’s record is lower than I believe it will finish this year. We

will also be targeting good starting pitchers who have not pitched as well as we

know they can.

Cardinals @ Nationals 1:05 PM PT

The Cardinals have been struggling recently due to poor starting pitching.

The bats are still there, having two of the premier hitters in the entire league in,

Nolan Arenado and Paul Goldschmidt. Breakout star Nolan Gorman has cooled

off as of late but still sits at 15 home runs. I expect him to start heating up. The

Cardinals are throwing right-hander Jack Flaherty. With a 4.64 ERA, Flaherty is

due for a couple great starts, with one today coming against the lackluster

Nationals. The Nats starter Josiah Gray has pitched well this year, but his 3.19

ERA is due to rise a little as his career ERA is closer to 5. The Cardinals are too

talented to be 29-43.

Cardinals ML (-152)

Blue Jays @ Marlins 3:40 PM PT

How bout the Miami Marlins being ten games over 500? Awesome team

that has it going. But that stops today. Not too much into this pick; Jose Berrios

is a stud for the Jays, and Bryan Hoeing for Miami is a bullpen arm. Vladdy goes

yard 3 times today, and the Jays win by 5.

Blue Jays -1.5 (+105)

Mets @ Astros 5:10 PM PT

The 130 million dollar man Mad Max Scherzer takes the bump today for

the Mets. Scherzer has gotten dinged his last two starts allowing 11 earned

runs in total. His slide stops today against the defending champs, and his ERA

starts trending in the right direction. This Astros kid Hunter Brown has been

lights out for them this year. Something about the Astros and developing

starting pitching is pretty remarkable. I don’t mind the under 7.5 runs here, as

the Mets also have a pretty quiet lineup, but I still think 38-year-old Mad Max

out-duels his 24-year-old counterpart.

Mets ML (-105)

Padres @ Giants 6:45 PM PT

How bout the G-men?? Winners of 7 in a row after a sweep of the

Dodgers. The Giants are rolling right now due to a juggernaut of an offense and

great starting pitching. The guru Farhan Zaidi might be on to something. The G-

men are throwing a relatively unproven cat in Ryan Walker, while the Padres are

throwing veteran Michael Wacha. Wacha has been as average as it gets over his

career, and Michael Conforto, Brandon Crawford, JD Davis, and Joc Pederson

have all raked off of him, combining for a .552 BA. 8 of my buddies and I will

also be in the bleachers tonight, so I expect a Fernando Tatis 0-5 with a golden

sombrero. He is going to regret juicing more than ever. Sell your house and

throw it on the Giants tonight.

Giants ML (-105)
